WalletHub analyzed data for 300 cities around the United States to determine the best and worst cities for first-time homebuyers. To determine their rankings, WalletHub used 19 metrics such as housing affordability, cost of living, real estate taxes, housing market health, crime rates, and their previous rankings for recreation, schools, and job availability.
