Title Officer, Tina Dettloff, works out of the Alliance Title’s Salmon office and she has been with the company for 24 years. As a Title Officer, her duties entail all aspects of title work, including customer service, title searches, recordings, and approving title insurance policies.
When asked what she loves the most about what she does, Tina said, “I love the historical aspect of title searching. History has always interested me and going through the old records connects me with the past. I have also always taken great interest in maps and collect them wherever I go. And this is probably why I enjoy drawing out legal descriptions.”
Trust and respect are Tina’s favorite Alliance core values. She explained, “Having our customers come to us because they trust me, and we have mutual respect, is very rewarding.”
The person Tina admires the most is her father. As a young man, he came to the United States from Greece. He worked many jobs to put himself through school. After becoming an engineer at Lockheed in Burbank, California, he helped organize the Engineers & Scientist Guild and served as their president until he passed away in 1968. Tina said, “He worked hard, loved this family, and all with a great sense of humor. If I was a 10th of the person he was, I’d be doing alright!”
Outside of the office, Tina likes spending time with her friends and family. In the summer, she loves to play in the Salmon River and garden; and in the winter months, she cross-country skis, sews, or takes an art class. But regardless of the season, she loves to read all of the time!
Tina’s favorite quote is by Abraham Lincoln: “Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”
