The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) issued the results of a survey they offered builders in December 2014 inquiring as to which features were most likely to be included in new 2015 homes. Ranking the highest in the survey were laundry rooms and walk-in closets for master bedrooms.
Other features finding favor with builders involved energy efficiency. Low-e windows, as well as Energy-Star rated appliances and windows, were among the top 10 features. Two features were found to be continual favorites: great rooms (combined kitchen, family, living room) and 2-car garages.
