Simple & Green – Pulling the Plug on Unused Devices

There are many devices within our homes that remain plugged in even when we are not using them. Such devices include cable boxes, gaming consoles, computers and cellphone chargers. According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, “the average household spends about $100 per year” on energy costs for devices not regularly used. That accounts to an estimated $10 billion in energy that is wasted each year.

Pulling the plug on the devices we are not using helps us to conserve energy and reduce our utility bills. Thanks to new technological advances, pulling the plug is becoming even more simple and green.
