Fannie Mae has recently added new functionality to their HomePath for Short Sales website to improve communication between real estate professionals and Fannie Mae during the short sale process on Fannie Mae-owned loans. The recently added features are intended to help agents contact Fannie Mae earlier in the short sale process when they anticipate challenges, thus reducing the need for escalating concerns later on.
Fannie Mae’s Vice President for Short Sales, Tim Callum, stated, “This is an important step in continuing to build a strong relationship with the real estate community, which will ultimately contribute to the stabilization of neighborhoods. Allowing real estate professionals to negotiate an offer directly with Fannie Mae is the next step in streamlining the short sale process. Our goal is to provide transparency throughout these transactions and arrive at an agreement that benefits all parties involved.”
