Janel Young is a Title Assistant at Alliance Title’s Rexburg, Idaho branch. Her responsibilities as a Title Assistant entail setting up and pre-searching all of the orders that come in from the 7 counties the Rexburg title production unit services. In addition to her Title Assistant duties, Janel has recently been moved to the front desk. Here she assists with visiting customers and customer calls as well as other receptionist duties, such as accounts receivable.
It is no surprise that Janel thrives in her current and new roles since what she enjoys most about her work are the people she interacts with. She says, “I am quite the social person and love to make new friends and help people whenever I can. I have made lifelong friendships throughout our company and with customers also. I also love seeing the happy people that leave our office smiling from ear-to-ear because they just bought their dream home. That is what makes it worth coming to work every day.”
In 1991, Janel began her career in the title industry when she worked for American Land Title as a Typist. She was then promoted to Title Officer within a year and a half of starting her employment. She left the company when she married her husband in 1993 and returned to the company, by then called Alliance Title, in 1995 after the birth of her first child. She has been with Alliance Title ever since, making her stint with the company an impressive 19 years!
Janel esteems all of Alliance Title’s core values. She says, “I feel like we can’t be the amazing company that we are without all of them. I do think teamwork is one of the most important to me because it is my opinion that not one person can do what we do as a company. The escrow department can’t do what they do without the title department and vice versa.”
Janel’s parents, Blaine and Janice Sharp, are the people she admires the most. She explains, “They are two of the most giving people that I know and would do anything for anyone. They have instilled in all of their children and grandchildren an amazing work ethic and have shown on a daily basis their unselfish love for everyone.”
Outside of work, Janel enjoys spending time with her husband, Ray, and her two daughters, Jerika (age 18), and Kinlee (age 13). She loves reading, photography, scrapbooking, blogging, riding bikes with friends and sleeping. Janel says, “Anytime is a good time for a nap!!”
“Eventually all the pieces fall into place. Until then, laugh at the confusion, live for the moment and know that everything happens for a reason” is Janel’s favorite quote. She explains, “Life sometimes throws some crazy stuff at us and, no matter what it is, we need to remember that it is happening for a reason and we can make it through.”
