NerdWallet.com recently reported that they analyzed the “top 100 most populous” metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) to find cities that offered consumers the best opportunities for homeownership. Their criteria included aspects such as housing inventory, median household income, cost of living, population growth and local economic health.
Ranking 6th place in the best medium-sized metro areas for homeownership was the Boise City-Nampa, Idaho MSA. NerdWallet.com gave the Boise City-Nampa area a homeownership rate of 67.4% with median selected monthly homeowner costs of $1,284, median monthly household income of $4,016, and homeowner costs as a percentage of household income of 32.0%.
