Rexburg, Idaho, “America’s Family Community,” is located in the agriculturally rich Snake River Valley of Eastern Idaho. Rexburg made headlines in June 1976 when the Teton Dam ruptured allowing the Teton River to flow freely through the northern part of town. The majority of the city was underwater for several days. Of note was the community support and cooperation which greatly hastened recovery efforts.
