Can You Eat on Just $4.50 per Day? Take the SNAP Challenge!

Feeding America hosted their Hunger Action Month this past September in an effort to raise awareness about the prevalence of hunger and to inspire individuals to take action to end hunger for millions of families across the nation. As part of their action efforts, Feeding America challenged the public to take the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, commonly known as food stamps) Challenge. The challenge is designed to give participants a glimpse of “what life is like for millions of low-income Americans facing hunger. By accepting the SNAP Challenge, you’ll commit to eating all of your meals from a limited food budget comparable to that of a SNAP participant – $1.50 per meal” or $4.50 per day.

While Feeding America’s Hunger Action Month is over, Alliance Title would like to carry on the SNAP Challenge in conjunction with their 2nd annual ‘Closing the Hunger Gap’ company-wide food drive for the entire month of October. Can you eat on just $4.50 per day? Learn more about the SNAP Challenge here and place your pledge here on Feeding America’s Facebook page.
