Since its establishment in 1893, and incorporation as a village in 1903, Meridian, Idaho has steadily grown into a thriving metropolitan area just eleven miles west from downtown Boise. Because the city gracefully blends commerce with family-life, Meridian’s population has greatly grown over the past twenty years. Meridian’s population tripled between 1990 and 2000 and more than doubled from 2000 to 2007. As of 2012, the estimated population in Meridian is 80,386 and is 7.0% greater than in 2010.

Known as the “Center of the Treasure Valley,” Meridian offers various family-friendly venues and festivities. Each June, the city hosts their Dairy Days festival meant to commemorate the days when dairy-related businesses were prominent in the area. Dairy Days has been observed in Meridian since 1929. Other festivities include the Meridian Summer Arts Festival, the Farmstead Corn Maze-Pumpkin Festival, the Linder Farms Pumpkin Patch-Corn Maze, and Movie Night in Meridian at Settlers Park. For residents and visitors looking for a little more excitement, the Meridian Speedway offers ‘high-octane’ fun on the motorsport racetrack.
