As the largest city in northwest Montana, and the county seat of Flathead County, Kalispell is a hub of commerce in the Flathead Valley. Within the past decade, Kalispell has experienced significant growth. In fact, “Between 2000 and 2010 the population of Kalispell increased 40% to 19,927.” In 2012, according to the US Census Bureau, Kalispell’s population was estimated at 20,487. Considering that Kalispell is surrounded by national forests, wilderness areas, and is only a short drive to Flathead Lake, it is easy to see why people are attracted to the area.

A popular tourist destination, Kalispell is 33 miles from the west entrance of Glacier National Park.  Deemed the ‘Crown of the Continent’ by the National Park Service, Glacier National Park is touted as a “hiker’s paradise” due to its 700 miles of trails. With forests, mountainous terrain, and stunning lakes, Glacier National Park is the perfect outdoor get-away.  In fact, the park sees almost 2 million visitors a year on average.
