Idaho Metro Areas Continue to Thrive

In July, 255 metropolitan areas across the nation showed statistical improvements in single-family housing permits data, home prices and employment within the last six-consecutive months according to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)/First American Improving Markets Index (IMI). While this number was down from 263 metros in June, July’s list “is more than triple the number of metros that were on it in July of 2012.”

Idaho was represented by five metro areas in the July IMI. Boise, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Falls, Lewiston and Pocatello each reflected continued improvements in economic health. All five cities made gains in single-family permits, home prices and employment in relation to their respective trough dates:
