October Home Price Index Shows Greatest Year-Over-Year Increase Since 2006

October 2012 home prices increased by 6.3%, the greatest year-over-year increase since June 2006, based on CoreLogic’s Home Price Index. On a month-over-month comparison, October 2012 home prices saw a 0.2% decrease from September 2012. The states with the highest home price appreciation, including distressed sales, were Arizona (+21.3%), Hawaii (+13.2%), Idaho (+12.4%), Nevada (+12.4%) and North Dakota (+10.4%).
