We are proud to report that fundraising goals were exceeded, with a total of $6,120.46 raised. This amount blew away last year’s record of $4,868.24.
The money raised through the Heart Walk funds research and initiatives that promote the prevention, treatment and better patient care in the areas of cardiovascular disease, the leading killer in the United States. The American Heart Association is the nation’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to building healthier lives free of heart disease and stroke.
Three teams were formed within several of our Ada/Canyon Co., Idaho branches and there were 28 walkers overall who participated on behalf of those teams.
Alliance’s ‘RED TEAM,’ with Russ Davis, Senior Vice President & Centralized Production Services Director, as Team Captain, ranked 5th in overall team fundraising contributions. http://bit.ly/KxffMh
The ‘WHITE TEAM’ was captained by Kevin Brocke, Business Development Representative – Eagle, Idaho, whose daughter Allie, is a ‘survivor.’ She underwent a heart procedure at the age of four which was then considered ‘experimental surgery.’ She is shown wearing her red cap, reserved solely for Heart Walk participants who have survived heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke or heart surgery. In 2004, the American Heart Association estimated that there were more than 10 million Americans alive who had experienced one or more of the above conditions.
The ‘BLUE TEAM,’ captained by Melissa Renz and Cheree Bartram, both Escrow Assistants with the Residential Escrow Services department in Boise, Idaho, organized a very successful bake sale as part of their fundraising efforts.
