Mortgage Interest Rates See a New Record Low

Based on information provided by Freddie Mac, 30-year and 15-year fixed mortgage rates decreased to a new-time low. “The 30-year fixed–rate mortgage averaged 3.9 percent this week while 15-year rates sank to 3.21 percent – both all-time lows from their previous record lows set on Oct. 6.” Even 5-year adjustable rate mortgages (ARMs) experienced a slight decrease in interest rates, landing at 2.86%. One-year ARM interest rates were the only rates to see a minimal increase, averaging 0.6%, making the average rate 2.81%.
