Grant Funding Awarded under HUD’s Supportive Housing Programs

On Wednesday, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced that $749 million in housing assistance for very low-income senior citizens and persons with disabilities has been approved by the federal government. “The grant funding awarded under HUD’s Sections 202 and 811 Supportive Housing programs will kick start construction or major rehabilitation on more than 189 housing developments in 42 different states and Puerto Rico.”

The State of Idaho was awarded a grant for the St. Vincent de Paul Salvage Bureau located in Coeur d’Alene with a capital advance of $1,428,500 and a three-year rental subsidy of $141,900 which will benefit 13 low-income chronically mentally ill residents with affordable housing and additional services.
