Percentage of Mortgages with Negative Equity Decrease Slightly in 2nd Quarter

CoreLogic announced today that the analysis of 2nd quarter negative equity data reveals that, on a national basis, 22.5% “of all residential properties with a mortgage were in negative equity at the end of the second quarter, down very slightly from 22.7 percent in the first quarter.” While the State of Idaho did not make the top 5 states with the highest percentages of mortgages with negative equity, CoreLogic’s report shows that out of the 252,108 mortgages accounted for in Idaho, 23% show negative equity while another 4.8% of the mortgages are near negative equity (properties in negative equity or within 5% of being in a negative equity position).
