Lender Short Sale Addendums – Mortgage Fraud Preventative or a Shift in Liability?

The Title Report brings to light the recent use of lender addendums at short sale closings that are designed to prevent short sale fraud. However, the American Land Title Association’s (ALTA) concern is that the new addendums are unreasonable in that they could potentially shift liability onto escrow and title officers when a short sale is ultimately determined to be fraudulent.  http://bit.ly/qud5vM
