Treasure Valley Experiences Three Consecutive Month Rise in Home Sales

The Intermountain Multiple Listing Service (IMLS) reports that existing home sales within the Treasure Valley increased 22% in February 2011 over January 2011.  The year-over-year increase from February 2010 was 15%.  As buyers capitalize on buying distressed properties with home prices at record lows not experienced since 2003 in Ada County and 1997 in Canyon County, continued high sales have the potential of raising home values.  Moreover, IMLS reveals a 37% increase in new home sales in Ada and Canyon counties for January and February 2011.
