Winterland Parade– 10:00am – Bundle up and join your friends and neighbors in downtown Meridian for a great show! The Meridian Winterland Parade starts at Storey Park at Main Street and Franklin Road and travels north on Main Street. Children’s Winterland Festival– Directly following the parade, until 5:00pm. come get warm in the Meridian Community Center (corner of Idaho and E. 2nd) while your kids enjoy arts and crafts, cookie decorating (and eating!), pictures with Santa, games, free hot chocolate, and more! Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony– 6:00pm – Get ready to light the City’s tree with Mayor Tammy de Weerd and Stacey Skrysak of Fox 12 at Generations Plaza on the corner of Main and Idaho! Arrive early, though, for a special showing of the cartoon “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” at 5:30pm on the huge inflatable movie screen that’s used for CableONE Movie Night in Meridian! The ceremony will include performances by local school choirs, the announcing of the Christmas essay contest winners, free donuts from Krispy Kreme, free hot chocolate from The Library Coffeehouse, free carriage rides, and the arrival of a very special guest! Meridian Symphony Orchestra Christmas Concert– 7:30pm – Cap off a magical day by enjoying the sounds of Christmas during the MSO’s Christmas concert presented by Sherer & Wynkoop Law Offices and Blue Cross of Idaho. “Christmas, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” is the title of the concert this year, which will be held in the Meridian Middle School auditorium (1507 W. 8th St.).
