Effective July 1, 2010: Idaho Recording Fees Increase

Effective July 1, 2010
Idaho Recording Fees Increase

HB 521, the County Fee Bill, was signed by the Governor and will go into effect on July 1, 2010.

The legislation will increase the fee to record a document to ten dollars ($10) for the first page of each recorded document.

The fee to record each additional page of a recorded document will remain three dollars ($3) a page.

What does this mean to you?
What this means to you, our customers, is that recording fees on your transactions are increasing by seven dollars ($7) per document.

The fee increase should help make the recording office less dependent upon property tax and free up revenues for other non-user fee supported services.

When was the last fee increase?
It has been 23 years since the recording fee in Idaho has been increased.  Idaho had the lowest recording fee in the nation.
